Isn’t he a bit like you and me?

The Beatles released Nowhere Man/Rubber Soul in 1965 in the UK but Nowhere Man didn’t appear in the US until 1966 as a single.  Since then, music historians  have offered their interpretation of the lyrics which span everything from social beavior, politics and God.  Nowhere Man was sung and wholly composed by Lennon and years later, he admitted that the song was simply about himself.

I’d like to offer my OWN interpretation…look closely at the letters.  NOW HERE MAN.  Reread the lyrics and see for yourself….  Lennon was present.  Lennon was in ‘his now.’

NOWhere Man Lyrics:

He’s a real Now here Man, Sitting in his Now here Land, making all his Now here plans for nobody. Doesn’t have a point of view, knows not where he’s going to, isn’t he a bit like you and me?  Now here Man, please listen, You don’t know what you’re missing, Now here Man, the world is at your command.  He’s as blind as he can be, Just sees what he wants to see, Now here Man can you see me at all? Now here Man, don’t worry, Take your time, don’t hurry, Leave it all till somebody else lends you a hand.  Doesn’t have a point of view, knows not where he’s going to, isn’t he a bit like you and me?  Now here Man, please listen, You don’t know what you’re missing, Now here Man, the world is at your command.  He’s a real Now here Man, Sitting in his Now here Land, Making all his Now here plans for nobody. Making all his Now here plans for nobody. Making all his Now here plans for nobody.
